What is Forest Bathing?
Forest bathing, known as "Shinrin-yoku" in Japan where it originated in the 1980s, is a practice of immersing oneself in the forest atmosphere. Unlike hiking where the goal is destination or exercise, forest bathing focuses on slowing down and opening your senses to the healing properties of the natural world.
Scientific research has shown that spending time in forests can lower cortisol levels, reduce blood pressure, boost immune function, and improve mood. Our certified forest therapy guides will lead you through a series of "invitations"—gentle prompts that help you connect deeply with the forest and yourself.
Health Benefits
Stress Reduction
Significant decrease in cortisol and adrenaline levels after just 2 hours in the forest.
Immune Boost
Phytoncides released by trees increase natural killer cell activity for up to 30 days.
Mental Clarity
Reduced mental fatigue and improved focus, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
Better Sleep
Natural recalibration of circadian rhythms leads to deeper, more restorative sleep.
Lower Blood Pressure
Studies show measurable reduction in blood pressure after forest immersion.
Emotional Balance
Decreased symptoms of anxiety and depression, increased feelings of gratitude and peace.
